Monastir
An extremely elegant city edged by a sea-front boulevard and located at the southern end of the Gulf of Hammammet surrounded by olive groves and pine trees. Considered as one of Tunisia’s most important holiday destinations with white sandy beaches stretching all the way towards Sousse. Surrounding the marina are a wide range of restaurants and small pavement cafes serving international and local dishes. The old town area offers a picturesque, Arabic atmosphere and features numerous shops and entertainment. With its 9th century walls and the famous Ribat tower (a fortress for warrior monks) over a modern resort complex, the result is truly amazing and harmonious as Monastir has managed to blend old/traditional and new together.
