Family hotels in Sharm el Sheikh could prove attractive prospects following new comments concerning the importance of holidaying together.
Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators, insists that the economic downturn has not stopped families from venturing abroad.
Instead, she suggests the family vacation is likely to remain a top priority in households for many years to come.
"For many families, holidays are becoming more important as a way of spending quality time together without the distractions of today's busy lifestyle," she explains.
"Despite the recession, families are still looking forward to and booking their holidays as they realise it's impossible to put a price on the value of a relaxing break."
Ms Kenward argues the most popular destinations are likely to be those offering "good value and family friendly facilities", which could include a Sharm el Sheih hotel.
According to a recent survey by HolidayExtras.com, 42 per cent of customers agreed that spending time with loved ones is the best thing about holidays.
