LA PALMA

Learn more about the 'pretty island' in the canaries!

La Palma was in the public eye in 2021 with the eruption of the active Volcano Cumbre Vieja. Since then, a huge project was undertaken to reconstruct the area that was affected by the damage caused by the eruption. However, La Palma still holds its name, La Isla Bonita (the pretty island).

Home to incredible landscapes, imposing volcanoes, dense forests, unique beaches, and star-scattered skies. A safe destination, whose main attribute is its environmental quality, an unmistakable sign of healthy surroundings.

La Palma is a traditional and unspoiled destination, which has managed to preserve the things which make it special. A destination with a thousand details and corners to delight all your senses. Best of all is the #LaPalmaEffect. Indescribable, unique ... we can only say that you will long to return to La Palma.

A deep body and spirit connection will make you feel at peace with yourself in La Palma, as the island’s many visitors can attest. Sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound: all senses will be experienced intensively, making you feel revitalised and energetic.

No visit to La Palma is complete without witnessing the "Sea of Clouds". A natural phenomenon caused by the Trade Winds. They push the clouds against the summits, making the humidity condense in mid-elevation zones in the north and northeast. Winds at higher levels, characterised by their warmth and dryness, prevent the clouds from ascending so that once you are above 1,800 metres you can see them below you.

STARGAZING

La Palma possesses certain unique environmental features which have won it the distinction of being named a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. More than one-third of its surface area is protected land, the highlight of which is the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. Its landscape is the result of a dramatic formation process that took millions of years and houses a multitude of microclimates and surprisingly contrasting vegetation.

At its highest point, over 2400m above sea level, the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory rises above the “sea of clouds” where the atmosphere is clear and stable thanks to the Atlantic Ocean. Consequently, this is considered one of the best places on earth to observe the sky.
