TOP THREE THINGS TO DO:

Roque Nublo

You’ll find it in a great yet tiny place almost touching the sky. Many people refer to it as the volcano’s son. If you make it all the way to its base, you’ll understand why. We’re talking about Roque Nublo, our island’semblem that looks down on us all-powerfully from an extraordinary spot.

In the surrounding area, you’ll be rewarded with some impressive views and a lunar landscape that will make you feel like an astronaut exploring another world.

Dunas de Maspalomas

In the south of Gran Canaria, you’ll find a golden sandy desert that appeared right where it was least expected. The Maspalomas dunes delight travellers with almost one thousand acres of sand on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, next to the trusty lighthouse that has been showing them the way since 1890, now the start of a modern boulevard.

Puerto de Mogán

This seaside village hides endless secret spots, colourful streets and narrow canals, just waiting to be discovered by visitors. Experts on the good life chat in bars among bougainvillea and peals of laughter, needing nothing more than a beautiful sunset and candlelight.

BEACHES:

There are the busiest and best known beaches, such as the large stretch of sands at Maspalomas, a long strip of golden sand that starts out at Playa del Inglés all the way along to the great lighthouse at Maspalomas, around a desert of dunes bathing the southern tip of the island.

Visitors will also find another set of beaches at the south, quieter family beaches, like at San Agustín, the beach at Amadores or the smaller one at Puerto de Mogán.
